Frequently asked questions
1. How does it recover the deleted message?
Usually whenever you delete a message from iPhone (or PC) it will not be physically ERASED from the disk. Instead that memory portion will be marked as deleted so that the OS/Application can reuse it later. So we take advantage of this scenario and scan for all the records irrespective of its DELETED MARK and show you only the deleted records! Sounds cool?
2. How long the deleted messages will remain in device?
It is completely unpredictable. Once the memory is marked deleted, its available for any application to reuse it (refer previous question), so your message will remain as long as no application over-writes your data, in which case its IMPOSSIBLE for any application to recover your text. So sad!
3. Will the tool recover from encrypted backups?
No. Our team is working on this feature. It can be expected in future releases.
4. Why I do not see my deleted message?
Please refer answers of FAQ 1 and 2.
5. I deleted a message intentionally and your tool did not recover it. Why is this?
Apart from the reason explained in FAQ #1 and #2, the deleted text also gets physically ERASED if user WIPES the data completely. There are many tools available in market to wipe the memory which means all the memory data will be set to 0.
6. How many messages the tool can handle?
Theoretically it should be unlimited, but we have tested it successfully to the max of 29,000+ records from a single backup.
